Donghyeon Lee is pursuing his PhD in Mechanical Engineering under the advisement of Dr. Bo Cheng. His research aims to implement omnidirectional perching for Micro Air Vehicles by mimicking the perching strategies of animals like flies. This work combines robotic simulation, applied machine learning, and computer vision. His research goal is to develop a fully onboard system and achieve omnidirectional perching in dynamic environments, thereby enhancing the practical applicability of drones in real-life situations.
