Penn State Ecology graduate student and INSECT NET trainee Edward Amoah interns for the World Bank

Our INSECT NET community wishes to congratulate senior INSECT NET trainee Edward Amoah who this month was selected to participate in an internship with the World Bank (specifically, the Data and Digital Agriculture team in the Global Engagement Unit of the Agriculture and Food Glbal Department). In this role, Edward will leverage his training in artificial intelligence to provide insights and support decision-making for a new Agri-Food Data Advisory Facility from existing global datasets.
“I feel very lucky to be selected for this position. An internship with the World Bank can open a whole new door of opportunities for my career. I am very excited and can’t wait to give this internship my absolute best” says Edward.
This internship requires competency in diverse disciplines that include economics, data science, agricultural economics, statistics and public policy, in addition to familiarity with use-cases of actionable digital solutions in agriculture. These are topics and skill sets that INSECT NET strives to impart to participating students and faculty. Edward is confident that this experience, which runs concurrently with the last semester of his doctoral program, will open the door for future career opportunities.
